Arriving & Meeting the Group

Transfer From the Airport

Transfers from the Helsinki airport to the Hotel Haven are provided for all travelers, regardless of arrival date. We will use the flight information you provided to the Travel/Study office to arrange your transfers, so please be sure to alert us if there have been any significant changes to your flight itinerary since you first sent your flight information to our office. Note that you may be grouped with other travelers arriving on the same flight or at the same time.

After you claim your bags and exit customs, look for our local staff member, who will be holding a “Stanford Travel/Study” sign. If you have difficulty finding your transfer, please contact one of the following:

You will receive a separate individual email reconfirming your arrival details (including any additional hotel nights) and transfer details 1 to 2 weeks before departure.

At the Hotel

Check-in time at the Hotel Haven is 3:00 p.m. Luggage can be left with the bell captain if you arrive before your room is ready. An optional walking tour will be offered on Saturday, March 22, departing at 1:00 p.m. from the lobby of our hotel, for those who arrive early and would like to join us.

In an effort to push back our start time on Sunday, we have adjusted our first gathering to be on Saturday, March 22nd.  Please meet in the lobby at 5:15pm so that we can direct you to the location of our Welcome Remarks.  (If you are arriving after 5:15pm, not to worry: most of what we are going to address in this meeting is in the welcome letter your tour manager sent by email and which you should receive a printed copy of at the hotel. Tour manager Elizabeth Jones will also bring you up to speed before our lecture on Sunday morning.)

As a reminder, if you are arriving early and opted to book any extra nights directly with the hotel rather than through Travel/Study, you may need to change rooms when the main program starts since hotels cannot always link individual hotel reservations with group reservations.
