We converged on Geneva, with very inquisitive brains
Ready for a week of adventures in vans, on hikes and in trains.
Where were the mountains, the group did quip,
So off to Zermatt we did go, on a Stanford mountain trip!
Put your bags in the vans, wear your name tags out,
Don't miss a lecture, or the leaders will pout!
Our hotels on the trip, were a cut above the Hyatt,
After eating delicious food for 10 days, we will all be going on a diet!
Aretes, horns and cirques, sculpted by magnificent glacial power,
Each decorated on top, with a tiny alpine flower.
Dean and his team, led us to our destinations, at any cost,
and under their capable leadership, we never did get lost!
Man's existence on this earth, seems like a drop in the bucket,
When compared to glacial erosion, as fast as ice can pluck it!
Lectures on rocks and scat, have been really great,
Can't wait to get home, so I can sleep late!
In the Alps we saw, where glaciers were really neat,
We learned that many glacier snouts though, are mainly in retreat!
Now our fairy tale trip to the Alps, is nearly complete,
There are no more rock lectures, to put us to sleep!
For hiking up the last alpine trail, we will never fail!
Let's count our blessings and shout, "Hail, Stanford, Hail!"
