Check-in time at the Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbor is 6:00 a.m. on January 9th. Luggage can be left with the bell captain if you arrive before your room is ready. Our first group activity will be a light lunch at 12:30 p.m. in house in the Boulevard Room, followed by a walking tour of the central city of Auckland.
The tap water in New Zealand is safe to drink so in keeping with our effort to eliminate single-use bottles on all Travel/Study programs, we ask you to be sure to bring a refillable water bottle and/or hydration pack that you can fill in your hotel room and top off at lunch to make sure you have plenty of water during the day.
The following packing list should help you prepare for the program. These are simply our suggestions; you will want to make your own variations.
Due to safety regulations on our chartered airplane, we strictly enforce the following required luggage and weight limits:
one suitcase per person, not to exceed 45 pounds
one carry-on piece per person, not to exceed 10 pounds

While Covid-19 testing is available in destination(s), you may want to bring several rapid self-tests to have on hand, for ease of access and your own peace of mind. You can read more about self-tests on the CDC website, here.
We also recommend you pack a sufficient personal supply of liquid hand sanitizer and/or sanitizing wipes to last you throughout your travels.
