Looking Ahead

OPEN BOARD POSITIONS

We are looking forward to a great year ahead and graciously welcome any input you may have and invite you to join us at our board meetings.

The PTO Wants you!

Why do we want you?

We think that you should have a voice that should be heard, and that means being part of the Rippowam PTO Executive Board.

The IS THIS A HUGE COMMITMENT?

It is as big as you want it to be. As a board, we meet one evening a month. These meetings include administration and teachers. They discuss calendar events, funding of field trips, parties, etc. The board discusses teacher grants for their smaller, more specialized projects, plan the general PTO meetings (usually 1 - 3 per year), and fundraising ideas.

I DONʼT KNOW HOW TO DO THIS.

How will I know what to do? You can be paired with a board member who has held the position before, join up and take a job with a friend who is also new, or take it on solo. There is ALWAYS someone on the board willing to help out and answer questions.

I AM A WORKING PARENT.

I donʼt think I will have time. Many of us are also working parents. It can sometimes be a juggling act, but it is very rewarding to be part of helping at your child's school. The PTO Board meets once a month from October - June.
