Rippowam Middle School Open House for Parents

Time: 5:30–7:30 PM

Welcome to Rippowam! Open House is designed to give you a big-picture look at your child’s school experience. You’ll meet teachers, learn about curriculum and expectations, and explore our building.  We also keep it flexible in case you have multiple children at our school.  We are excited to welcome you next week!

Please note: This is not a time for individual conferences about your child. Those will take place in mid-October.

How the Evening Works

• Flexible Schedule: Sessions repeat every 20 minutes. You can decide which rooms to visit and in what order—choose your own path.

• Two Principal/Admin Sessions: Join either at 5:30 PM or 6:30 PM in the auditorium. These are optional, but helpful for understanding our school-wide goals.

• Core Color Team Sessions: Start at 5:50 PM and repeat every 20 minutes.

• Exploratory/Specials & Support Staff: Visit anytime throughout the evening.

• PTO meeting before the night at 5:00.  Purchase Rippowam spirit wear and meet PTO members outside the auditorium throughout the night. 

Session Options

1.Administrative Welcome (Optional)

Times: 5:30–5:50 PM or 6:30–6:50 PM
Location: Auditorium
Get an overview of the year and hear directly from school administration.

2. Meet Your Child’s Core Color Team

Learn about curriculum and expectations for core subjects (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, etc.).

Session Times:

• 5:50–6:10 PM

• 6:10–6:30 PM

• 6:30–6:50 PM

• 6:50–7:10 PM

• 7:10–7:30 PM

Drop in anytime between 5:50–7:30 PM.

4. Meet School-Based Support Staff

Location: Guidance Suite (downstairs)
Connect with support staff and community-based organizations.

Spanish Translation Support

• Claudia will rotate between the Administrative Welcome and Core Color Teams.

• Ms. Lopez will support the Purple Team.

Schedule:

• 5:30–5:50 PM: Claudia (Admin Welcome)

• 5:50–6:10 PM: Claudia (Red Team)

• 6:10–6:30 PM: Claudia (Orange Team)

• 6:30–6:50 PM: Claudia (Yellow Team)

• 6:50–7:10 PM: Claudia (Aqua Team)

• 7:10–7:30 PM: Claudia (Blue Team) + Ms. Lopez (purple team)
