Dear Rippowam families,
Your child took their i-Ready diagnostic assessment in ELA this past week. We are proud of the growth we are seeing in many of our returning students and are committed to continuing to support your child in their literacy and math growth. If your child’s diagnostic scores indicate a need for additional literacy support, we will be changing their schedule to accommodate an appropriate class. You can access your child’s scores through their Clever account. Follow the directions linked HERE. Our district code is R4DPJ3.
We have a short week next week as school will be closed on Thursday, October 3rd and Friday, October 4th in observance of Rosh Hashanah. Shanah Tovah to our families who celebrate! Your Rippowam family wishes you peace and prosperity for the new year and beyond.

i-Ready Math Diagnostic Assessment is Monday and Tuesday
i-Ready is a screening assessment administered to all students in ELA and Math during the Fall, Winter and Spring to show growth and inform support. Parents can access their child’s score through their child’s Clever account. See some key points below:
Make sure your child comes with a charged Chromebook and their charger
Each student will be assigned a testing room. Their homeroom teacher can remind students on Monday of their room.
On testing days, students will report to their testing room at 7:35 after homeroom and announcements. Please be on time.
Any electronic device (cell phone, smart watch, etc) must be turned off and placed in their book bags that will be left along the front wall of the classroom. Students cannot have access to these devices during testing.
During the testing period, students will have school-issued headphones and have about 90 minutes each session.
Bring a book! If students finish testing, they can read a book or rest - they cannot be on their laptop or talk while other students are testing.
Rippowam Raptors/ROSCCO After School Program Fall Session Registration - Starts Monday 9/30
Sign up for our dynamic after-school enrichment offerings designed to boost student's academic excellence and personal growth. The program runs Monday-Thursday until 4:15. Enrichment clubs are limited to 20 students per club unless noted. We ask you to rank your order of interest for each day's activities. We may begin a waitlist if necessary. If you are not interested in participating in one or more of the days please select the "not interested" option where available. A copy of your responses will be sent to the email you provide.

Join the SPEF 5K Run with Team Rippowam!
Join team Rippowam as we support the SPEF 5K run/walk for education. It is a great event and we would love to see as many students, staff and families from Rippowam as possible. Last year, we had participants from our New Arrivals classroom and Ms. Herlands. It would be great to have more kiddos and families this year! See information below - it is free for SPS students!
When: Sunday, October 6th
Where: Mill River Park by the Carousel
When: Registration begins at 8am, race begins at 9am

CPR Free Training
Come learn how to save a life with this free CPR training. The training includes:
Recognizing cardiac arrest
Responding in crisis and creating a safe scene
Hands-on CPR
Using an AED
Practicing on a manikin
When: Saturday, October 19th
Where: Stamford Boys and Girls Club
When: 10am-12am
Cost: Training is free, official CPR certification is $40 if wanted.

Sports: Club soccer and cross country running has started! See schedule below and have your child see their PE teacher for a permission slip if they would like to participate:
Monday: 6th grade club soccer
Tuesday: 7th grade club soccer and cross country
Thursday: 8th grade club soccer and cross country
