Dear Rippowam families,
We celebrated our final full-day Friday yesterday with a fun-filled field day. Luckily, the air quality and weather cooperated. Students had the opportunity to dunk staff members - including me - in a dunk tank, bounce in a bouncy house and participate in indoor and outdoor field day activities like tug-of-war, dizzy bat, and egg and spoon relay. A huge thank you to our Student Events Committee who worked in conjunction with our PTO to put on this amazing event. Check out all the pictures and videos on the PTO Instagram page: rippowampto.
On a personal note, I want to thank you all for your support through my first year at Rippowam. I love being a part of the Rippowam family and appreciate the trust you put in me every day to do the best for your children.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are early release days!
Monday we will have the Kona Ice truck visit and Tuesday the Reddi Rooster food truck will come. If students did not pre-order through the PTO sign up, you can send cash for them. The Kona Ice Klassic Kona is $4 and Reddi Rooster lunch is $7 (lil one chicken and fries).
8th Grade Information:
Graduation is Wednesday, June 14th at 9am. Each student will receive 2 tickets at the final graduation practice on Tuesday. We will have a waitlist for additional guests who are present and will be seated if there are additional seats available. We have a large graduating class and limited space in the auditorium. We will have an overflow room if we do not have enough seating available where we can live-stream the event. We will send out the link to all on Tuesday.
Summer Reading Lists: attached are the 2023 high school English summer reading documents from both Stamford High School and Westhill High School. These reading lists will also soon be available at www.stamfordhigh.org, www.westhillweb.com, the Ferguson Library, and Barnes and Noble in the mall. I have not received the list for AITE, but can send once I get it.
Community Schools Parent Survey
Our school has a wonderful opportunity to expand the services we can provide to students and families in our community, and it is very important that we have your input. Please complete this 5- minute survey to tell us what types of programs and offerings you want:

Staffing Changes:
Every new school year brings new staff members. I will send updates introducing our new staff members as we get closer to the start of the school year. Additionally, there will be opportunities for parents to participate in the interview process for our new AP, so look for information in the next couple weeks about the hiring committee.
Best,
Kristina Colmenares
