Hi Rippowam families,

This past week our PTO president, Tracie Dinc, surprised students for leap year day by hiding 1000 small plastic frogs around the common areas of the school.  Students arrived at school and immediately began finding colorful frogs around.  I believe most were found before morning announcements began!  The students who collected the most frogs will win a $5 Dunkin Donut gift card.  Winners will be announced on Monday.  Thanks, as always, to Tracie, for planning and organizing fun activities for our students.  

Spanish Class update
We have assigned certified SPS teachers to all of the Spanish sections and are assigning students to the platform.   Students will begin on the platform this week.  Early in the week, parents will receive a welcome email from the student supporting their child.  Parents with students in Spanish sections, you can watch an introductory video here.   

Spring Spirit Week March 18th-22nd
6th grade sponsored spring spirit week is March 18th - 22nd.  See below for daily themes:

• Monday:  Dress like your favorite teacher.

• Tuesday: Heritage Day - Dress the colors of your country

• Wednesday: Rippowam Spirit wear

• Thursday: Crazy Sock Day

• Friday: Tie Dye/Team Color Day

The Panorama Survey is coming
Stamford Public Schools will soon open its annual School Climate Survey for staff, students, and families.  The survey will be available in English, Spanish, Haitian-Creole, and Ukrainian.

At Rippowam, we have been working on ensuring that each of your children has at least one (hopefully more) trusted adult in this building that they have a connection with.  A connection means that the adults care about not only your learning, but you as a person.  Please ask your child who their trusted adult(s) are at school!
 

Parent Teacher Conferences
Please mark your calendars for our upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences on March 20, 21, and 22nd.  We will run our conferences similar to our process in the fall with virtual and in-person options.  More details will follow later this week.
