Dear Rippowam families,
It was a quick week back! I hope everyone had a restful break (if you had one). This week we had a visit from newly elected BOE member Versha Munshi-South who met with student council members, visited classes and enjoyed conversations with staff and students alike. Friday was another Fun Friday, where 8th graders played volleyball, 7th graders had a “Block Party” in the 7th grade hallway and 6th graders enjoyed a movie. We have a lot of fun events planned as we move closer to spring - see below for events in the next couple of weeks!
Intramural Volleyball Tryouts on Monday 2/27 and Tuesday 2/28
Girls and Boys volleyball team tryouts will be next Monday and Tuesday. Please see your gym teacher for a permission slip.
Integrated Math Information Session for Middle and High School
It was announced last week that Stamford Public Schools is adopting Integrated Mathematics to teach the material currently presented in Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2. This change will take place over a three-year period, with Integrated Math 1 replacing Algebra 1 during the 2023-24 school year. Click here to read more. This change will impact students in students entering grades 7, 8 and 9 in the Fall 2023. Associate Superintendent Amy Beldotti will host a Parent Pop-Up on Wednesday, March 1 at 7 p.m. to review this change with families. I encourage families to join this information session via zoom.

Confidence Club starts Thursdays after-school on March 2nd
For anyone who does not know what Confidence Club is, it's a brave space for middle school girls to discover the importance of having confidence and using their influence to become powerful leaders. It's an opportunity for students to develop new friendships across grades who share common interests. The club will meet on Thursdays after school until 3:15. There will be a late bus for those who need to take it. If you are interested in joining, there will be a sign up sheet posted outside of Ms. Macura's room (Room 217). Seats will be limited, so be sure to sign up as soon as you can. If anyone has any questions, please see Ms. Macura.
Change to Breakfast and Lunch Process
Beginning Monday, March 13, students will have to enter their student ID code at cafeteria registers before getting school breakfast and lunch. All meals will continue to be FREE for all students. This change is being implemented so Stamford Public Schools can provide an accurate count of meals served to comply with state and federal program requirements.
