Dear Rippowam families,

Happy February Break! I hope the students enjoy the long weekend.  This past week we celebrated Valentine’s Day thanks to the help and support of the PTO.  They sold Valentine’s Day accessories, delivered carnations and created a photo-wall for students to take pictures.  Check out the PTO instagram page “RippowamPTO” and see some of the fun pictures from the week.  Also check out the Save the Date for an upcoming Friday Night Skate on March 10th:

Virtual Family workshop on Thursday, February 23rd at 6pm

The Office of Family Engagement  is excited to announce an upcoming virtual Family Workshop on February 23rd, titled Family Wisdom: What Schools Can Learn from You in partnership with PowerMyLearning. Families will reflect on their strengths and explore opportunities to share their knowledge and experiences with their school community. This is also a great opportunity for families and students to build on their experience with climate and sense of belonging and community at the schools.  See attached flyers in English and Spanish to register.

Confidence Club starts Thursdays after-school on March 2nd

For anyone who does not know what Confidence Club is, it's a brave space for middle school girls to discover the importance of having confidence and using their influence to become powerful leaders. It's an opportunity for students to develop new friendships across grades who share common interests. The club will meet on Thursdays after school until 3:15. There will be a late bus for those who need to take it. If you are interested in joining, there will be a sign up sheet posted outside of Ms. Macura's room (Room 217). Seats will be limited, so be sure to sign up as soon as you can. If anyone has any questions, please see Ms. Macura.

Covid Positive Cases for the week ending 2/1/2023: 1

We will continue to report confirmed positive cases for our school community on a weekly basis.  Our school nurse has free Covid tests available for students.

Best,

Kristina Colmenares
