Dear Rippowam families,

Fingers crossed spring is here to stay!  This upcoming week is only 4 days as it ends with our February break.   A huge thanks to the PTO for organizing the Valentine’s Carnation sale - we had many students writing kind notes and sending a carnation to a friend or staff member to celebrate Valentine's Day.  If you are a football fan, enjoy the Super Bowl this weekend!

Breakfast and lunch is still free for all Stamford students - but they will use registers

School breakfast and lunch are still free to all Stamford students!  However, students will need to enter their student ID number before they are able to get their free school meal. 

Basketball Playoff Championship

Both the girls and boys team had a successful season and each player showed heart, skill, intelligence and sportsmanship.  While both teams lost in the playoff rounds this past week, we were so proud of the dedication demonstrated by the coaches and team members and we are thankful for the opportunity to have after school sports after a couple of years without.  Stay tuned for the spring sports opportunities available!

February Break Dates:

Friday, February 17th through Tuesday, February 21st is February break for students.  Students return to school on Wednesday, February 22nd.

Parent Pick Up/Drop Off  reminder

We are hearing reports that a security guard from Apples is telling parents they cannot park.  This is untrue.  We just cannot block the area past the crosswalk by Apples as that is a parent pick/up and drop off area as well as a bus area for them. 

Virtual Family workshop on Thursday, February 23rd at 6pm

The Office of Family Engagement  is excited to announce an upcoming virtual Family Workshop on February 23rd, titled Family Wisdom: What Schools Can Learn from You in partnership with PowerMyLearning. Families will reflect on their strengths and explore opportunities to share their knowledge and experiences with their school community. This is also a great opportunity for families and students to build on their experience with climate and sense of belonging and community at the schools.  See attached flyers in English and Spanish to register.   English Flyer    Spanish Flyer 

Covid Positive Cases for the week ending 2/11/2023: 3

We will continue to report confirmed positive cases for our school community on a weekly basis.  Our school nurse has free Covid tests available for students.
