Dear Rippowam families,
We have the final school week of the 2024 year ahead of us!
This past week we had two fun events: an after school science competition hosted by alumni Leyla Dinc and our annual Holiday Bazaar.
Leyla is part of the IB program at Stamford High and one of her school projects had a service learning component. Therefore, she developed an after school mini-science competition to foster a love of science in middle school students and hosted this at Rippowam. Participants created their own volcano projects and watched them erupt this past Tuesday. Guest judges evaluated the projects on best design and best eruption. Thank you Leyla for working with our kids on this project and for sharing your love of science!
All students also had the opportunity to shop for holiday gifts for loved ones as the 8th grade team and parent volunteers turned our cafeteria into a Holiday Bazaar. Thank you to all who donated and helped organize this great event to raise money for 8th grade trips.

Family Holiday Game Night Tuesday, December 17th at 5:30pm
Come join us for holiday cheer and fun holiday-themed games in our cafeteria on Tuesday at 5:00pm.
Friday, December 20th: Holiday Hoops, Rippowam Talent show and early release
Winter break lasts from Monday, December 23rd to Wednesday, January 1st, 2025. Students return to school on Thursday, January 2nd.
On Friday, we have a fun activity day planned for our final school day of the 2024 school year. Students will watch performances in our Rippowam Talent show and enjoy student basketball in our Holiday Hoops game. Students do not need a backpack on Friday - there will be no classes.

We will host club basketball on Tuesdays after school for students who want to play non-competitively. Permission slips are being passed out by the PE teachers.
