Dear Rippowam families,
As we head into the Thanksgiving weekend, we wish all of our Rippowam families a joyful time filled with friends, family, and gratitude. As the holiday season begins, it’s a great time to demonstrate our Raptor PRIDE values:
Positivity: Looking for the good in every situation, like recognizing and appreciating what you have.
Respect: Listening and honoring others’ traditions, even if they are different from our own.
Empathy: Understanding how someone else feels, like helping a family member with a task.
Determination: Tackling challenges with effort and patience, such as learning a new recipe or game.
Integrity: Doing the right thing even when no one is watching, like trying to make someone else’s holiday season a little brighter by your actions.
A special thank you to our CORE classroom for their Grateful Giving event this past Wednesday, where students and staff shared hot cocoa, munchkins, and heartfelt thank-you cards with our Rippowam staff. We also extend our gratitude to the New Arrivals team for hosting a beautiful Thanksgiving celebration that welcomed our newcomer families, allowing everyone to share in this tradition, their gratitude, and a delicious meal.

Rowan Center Presentations on Sexual Abuse Prevention and Awarenes in HEART December 1st-12th
In June 2014, a law was passed that mandates sexual abuse prevention and awareness education in all schools, grades K-12, effective October 2016. With this in mind, your child’s school is The Rowan Center, our local sexual assault resource agency, created a curriculum around these mandates to raise awareness and assist with the prevention of child sexual abuse and sexual violence. The program is facilitated by The Rowan Center’s certified crisis counselors and trained prevention educators and is a safety education and prevention program that focuses on empathy, respect, boundaries, and consent. Every lesson is age-appropriate. You also have the option to opt your child out of this program using THIS FORM. Thank you for being a partner with us in this important area of your child’s education. If you have any questions regarding this program or any other services that we offer, please visit our website at therowancenter.org
