Dear Rippowam families
2.5 school days until Thanksgiving break! In the spirit of thanksgiving, our Rippowam community wishes you the warmth of family and friends this Thanksgiving and are incredibly grateful that each of you are part of our extended Rippowam family.
Thanks to the 6th grade team and PTO for their collaboration on Turkey Bingo this past week. We had many rounds of intense bingo with lots of food and fun prizes.
This past week, our 6th grade drama class performed a play for our friends at Apples. Thanks to our drama teacher, Ms. Beach, and her wonderful students for their hard work on this performance. The show had riddles, taught our young friends at Apples about the dramatic element of suspense and even had a dance party at the end.
We have a lot of exciting events happening in the coming weeks! Make sure you check out our Rippowam Events Calendar for upcoming and planned events.
Stamford Thanksgiving Parade is Sunday
The 31st Annual Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular is this Sunday at 12 pm. This year’s parade will feature marching bands from throughout the region including our own Westhill High School Vikings Marching Band, 15 giant character balloons, dance companies, and much, much more.
Wednesday, November 27th is an Early Release day
This Wednesday is an early release day for all Stamford Public Schools and schools are closed on Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Rippowam ends at 11:45 on early release days.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher conferences are Wednesday, December 11th-Friday, December 13th for students who failed multiple classes in Q1. Teams will be reaching out to schedule with families of students who are struggling academically in their classes. If you would like to schedule a meeting with your child’s teachers and you were not called in for a conference, please reach out to your child’s counselor.
Toys for Tots
8th grader Christopher Grant has partnered with the Stamford Police Department to collect new toys for children this holiday season. Please donate a new, unwrapped toy by 12/13. See flyer below:
Please donate for our annual Holiday Bazaar
In mid-December, our cafeteria becomes a holiday marketplace for our students to purchase items for loved ones at bargain prices. Please donate items for this event: we are collecting toys, games, housewares, accessories and small electronics, they can be gently used or brand new. Everything can be brought to the main office by Monday, December 9th.
