We’ve successfully completed our iReady diagnostic assessments in Math and Reading. With parent-teacher conferences coming up, it’s a great opportunity to learn more about your child’s progress—see below for details on our conference structure.
October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month—thank you to the parents who have already been selling pink items during the lunch waves to raise money for the Bennett Cancer Center.
ROSCCO after-school programming begins Monday, October 6—please be sure your child has their signed permission slip to attend.

Thursday, October 9th Hispanic Heritage Night celebration
Join the RIPPOWAM community for our annual Hispanic Heritage Night on October 9th from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM! There will be food, music, games and FUN for the whole family. We hope to see you there!
Rippowam After School Programming
Intramural sports have started: Students can join Cross Country (running team with meets, 2 miles per practice) or Soccer. Club soccer is split by grade level:
Mondays: 6th & 8th grade
Tuesdays: 6th & 7th grade
Thursdays: 7th & 8th grade
ROSCCO Enrichment Program

Cheer Team Tryouts are this week
Try out for the cheer team on Monday, 10/6 and Tuesday, 10/7 - students need to attend both days and have signed permission slip. See Ms. Macura for more information.
Raptor PRIDE Student Council nominations are this week
Students have the opportunity to represent their HEART class and grade level in our new Raptor PRIDE student council. See HERE for the presentation they received in their HEART class. This Wednesday, students can deliver a quick speech about how they demonstrate Raptor PRIDE and why they will be a great selection for this council. Each HEART class can have one representative to serve on the council.
Parent/Teacher Conferences are October 15th - 17th
These are early release days for students. To make the most of conference time, we’ll be using a mixed format with options of both virtual & in person meetings:
Wednesday & Thursday: Teams/Exploratory Teachers will schedule 20-minute conferences with families. If appointments aren’t filled, they will open to other families 48 hours in advance.
Friday: Parents can sign up for individual 10-minute one-on-one conferences with their child’s teacher. A sign-up form will be sent home later this week.
Fall Costume Ball is Tuesday, October 21st from 5-7:30
Homeroom teachers have the permission slips. Money ($10) and permission slips are due by Thursday the 17th. Costumes are optional.
2026-27 Magnet School Lottery Opens September 15

Health Requirements
