Dear Rippowam families,
We had a fantastic time at our annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration! A big thank you to ROSCCO for the delicious food and to our Community Schools Grant Manager, Shawn Davis, for organizing the fun games and activities. It was wonderful to see so many families and students enjoying time together. Looking ahead, our Pumpkin Decoration Contest is coming up on Tuesday, October 28—we hope to see even more families joining us for a fun events at school!

No school Monday in observance of Colobus Day/ Indigenous People’s Day
Parent/Teacher Conferences are October 15th - 17thThese will be early release days for students - they are dismissed at 11:45 and there is no after school programming. To make the most of conference time, we’ll be using a mixed format with both in-person and virtual options:
Wednesday (10/15) & Thursday (10/16):
Teams and Exploratory Teachers will schedule 20-minute conferences with selected families. Please check your email for invitations to these conferences.
If there are open appointment times, they will be made available to other families 48 hours in advance.
Friday (10/17):
Families can sign up for individual 10-minute in person or virtual conferences with any or all their child’s teachers.
Use the conference document provided to find each teacher’s name and click their Sign-Up Google Form.
Complete a separate form for each teacher or support staff member you’d like to meet with.
If all time slots are filled, you can still request a meeting or phone call from the teacher using the same form.

Accessing Your Child’s iReady Report
BOY iReady testing for grades K–8 finished last week. Reports will be shared during parent-teacher conferences. Parents can also access their child’s iReady report via Clever, using the child’s SPS Gmail login. You may also find the following general resources helpful:

First Cross Country Meet at TOR
The Cross Country season kicked off yesterday at Turn of River Middle School! Top Ripp finishers: Girls: Adieu Maker, Laura Caffer, Makyla Richards. Boys: Jack Patterson (17th), Ben Dinc (21st), Marlon Atunez (23rd). Great job to our team and all 330 Stamford middle school runners—looking like an exciting season ahead!
ROSCCO Enrichment Program

Fall Costume Ball is Tuesday, October 21st from 5-7:30
Homeroom teachers have the permission slips. Money ($10) and permission slips are due by Thursday the 17th. Costumes are optional.
2026-27 High School Information Sessions for 8th graders
This week in HEART, 8th graders will attend virtual High School Info Sessions on Early College Studies (Stamford High), Wright Tech, and Westhill’s Agriculture Science program. Sessions will be recorded and shared with families.
Fall Spirit week is coming Monday October, 20th - Friday, October 24th
Health Requirements
