This year's theme:
Joshua 1:9
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
This month, we have quite a bit going on!
For Fifth and Sixth grade, we have our Unit 1 test on Friday (9/19).
For Seventh grade, we have our Unit 1 test on Wednesday (9/17).
We will be reviewing our Unit 1 concepts for the rest of the week and all of next week in order to prepare students for the test.
The Assessment practice pages will be turned in for credit as well.
After we grade our tests, I will hand them back to give students the opportunity to make up those lost points in the Quiz/Test review. As long as they identify the correct answer and can tell me why that answer is correct, I will give them partial credit back.
Next week, we will also start reading our books.
For Fifth Grade, we are reading Wonder.
For Sixth Grade, we are reading Where the Red Fern Grows.
For Seventh Grade, we are reading the Book Thief.
Seventh Grade needs to finish their Unit 3: Space Exploration unit first. After we are done, then we will read our books.
We will read these books in class. Each chapter will have questions to be answered and turned in. After we are done reading each book, we will take a test.
It will take us around a month, I think, to read each book. So, no need to worry about a test just yet.
After we are done reading each book, we will also write an essay based on specific topics in each book.
We will also be assigned specific projects for each book as well.
I will discuss what those will look like in my next newsletter when we are done reading those books to update you all.
Sincerely, Mrs. Kurenyshev
