Parishioner Survey 2026

For the past nine months, the Parish Council has been working on a yearlong Pastoral Strategic Planning Process to help identify and prioritize goals for St. Albert the Great over the next 3–5 years. An important part of this process is hearing from you! We invite every parishioner to complete our Parishioner Survey, which will help us better understand how we can grow closer to Christ, strengthen our community, and faithfully live out the Gospel through the many ministries of our parish.

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and will be available through September 28, 2026. Use the button below to take the online survey, or pick up a paper copy in the back of church. Each member of your household is encouraged to participate, with one response per person. Your feedback is an important part of shaping the future of our parish and helping us serve the evolving needs of our faith community. 2026 Catholic Higher Education Collection

This weekend of September 19 & 20, our parish will take up the annual collection for Catholic higher education. Catholic colleges and universities strive to form students in the spirit of faith and educate them in the richness of the Catholic intellectual tradition. This collection supports the Catholic University of America as well the two Catholic universities in our Archdiocese – Bellarmine University and Spalding University.

Blessing of the Animals

OCTOBER 4TH  |  4:00PM

We will have our annual Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 4th  at 4:00 p.m. in front of the church. Bring your pets of all shapes and sizes for this blessing which takes place annually close to the Feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and ecology.

In celebration of Fulton Sheen’s upcoming beatification, St. Albert the Great will host a special Holy Hour of Adoration on Thursday, September 24, at 7 p.m. Confessions will be available during Adoration, and the evening will conclude with Solemn Benediction at 8 p.m. We invite you to join us for this special evening of prayer as we celebrate the life and witness of this remarkable American Catholic.

Let’s Reimagine Youth Ministry Together! 

Our parish and school are beginning an exciting conversation about reimagining and revitalizing the Youth Ministry Program—creating opportunities for our young people to grow closer to Jesus, build friendships, serve others, and feel connected to our Catholic community. 

We invite our youth, parents, parishioners, and school families to pray for this process and share their ideas as we discern a Christ-centered, welcoming, and engaging future for youth ministry. Please pick up a prayer card in the back of the church designed to specifically pray for the future of our youth program.

We are counting on the parish community to assist us in this revitalization. By giving your time and sharing your faith, you help the children of St. Albert the Great discover that Jesus knows them, loves them, and walks with them every day.

Being a catechist is not about having every answer. It is about showing up, building relationships, sharing the Gospel, and creating a classroom where children feel welcomed and loved. Every prayer, encouraging word, patient response, and lesson plants a seed of faith—and God will bring those seeds to life in His time.

You are not alone in this ministry. Our parish is committed to supporting you with formation, resources, encouragement, and prayer.

Thank you for being a witness to Christ and for helping our children grow in faith and love. We are truly blessed to have you as part of our catechetical ministry!

St. Albert Book Club

In honor of Respect Life Month, the St. Albert Book Club will be reading Fifty Years in the Trenches: Margie Montgomery and the Fight for Life by Schu Montgomery. Margie Montgomery was a longtime parishioner of St. Albert the Great and a dedicated Catholic and pro-life advocate who spent five decades defending the dignity of human life.

Join us for discussion on Thursday, October 29, at 10:00 a.m. as we learn more about Margie’s remarkable life, faith, and legacy. All are welcome! 

The September meeting of the St. Albert Book Club book is Thursday, September 24th at 10:00a.m. in the Sacred Heart Center. There is no cost to join and no registration is required. Just read the book and show up!

Seasonal Flower Ministry

Weekend of September 19th & 20th 

Let our parishioners know you care by bringing a flower to one of our ill, homebound or bereaved. Just choose a flower with name and card attached provided by your Pastoral Care Team and deliver. It’s that easy! Thanks for spreading the love!

Grief Support Group

An 8-week grief support group will meet Mondays, October through November from 12:30–2:00 p.m. at St. Albert the Great. Led by Lisa Ratterman and based on Alan Wolfelt’s book Understanding Your Grief, the group will provide guidance and support for those who have lost a loved one, helping participants honor their grief and discover new hope. Free and open to all.

Loaves & Fishes Collection

Weekend of October 3rd & 4th

Our next collection will benefit the Schumann Center Food Pantry. Canned foods: Meats, poultry, tuna, soups, stews, chili, fruits, vegetables, beans. Dried goods: pancake mix, tea bags, rice, packaged pasta, granola, cereal, granola bars, packaged crackers. In addition to non-perishable food items they are always in need of personal care items, paper towels & toilet paper, and cleaning supplies.

Baby Bottle Boomerang Fundraiser

October 3rd - 18th

In honor of Respect Life Month, we will be hosting the annual Baby Bottle Boomerang to support the life-saving work of Little Way Pregnancy Center.

For over 40 years, Little Way has served the women and families in this community - offering free medical services, love, and support for those facing unexpected pregnancies, parenting classes, baby closet items, and support groups for single mothers and fathers, as well as help for those in need of healing from a past abortion.

Beginning, October 3rd, empty baby bottles will be located in the back of the church. Please return your bottles filled with donations on October 17/18th weekend.

All proceeds will benefit the life-saving work of Little Way. Thank you for your support.

Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids

September 26th & 27th

The Knights of Columbus Bishop Flaget Council (#13053) will distribute up to a maximum of 2,400 winter coats to needy children in the Louisville area through Catholic Charities, St. Vincent de Paul, Golden Arrow, and Boys and Girls Haven.

We are able to provide such a large quantity of winter coats thanks to the generosity of parishioners from St. Bernadette and St. Albert the Great. In fact, our Council tied for first place in winter coat purchases among all Knights of Columbus Councils in the Commonwealth of Kentucky last year.

These high-quality winter coats are purchased directly from Knights of Columbus Supreme in New Haven, Connecticut for a cost of $20 each. We once again are asking for your support this year to assure many needy children in the Louisville area will be clothed properly this winter by reaching our maximum goal of 2,400 coats.

Please donate after Masses on September 26th and 27th and October 24th & 25th at the display in the Gathering Space!

All supporting documents must be submitted no later than October 31, 2026, for your application to be considered complete and ready for review during the application period.
