Parish Update: 2025-26 Performance Letter & 2026-27 Financial Report

This week, we share with you a letter and financial report from the Finance Council highlighting the blessings of the past year—our celebrations of the sacraments, the growth of our parish family, and the stewardship of our resources. Parishioner Survey 2026

For the past nine months, the Parish Council has been working on a yearlong Pastoral Strategic Planning Process to help identify and prioritize goals for St. Albert the Great over the next 3–5 years. An important part of this process is hearing from you! We invite every parishioner to complete our Parishioner Survey, which will help us better understand how we can grow closer to Christ, strengthen our community, and faithfully live out the Gospel through the many ministries of our parish.

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and will be available through September 28, 2026. Use the button below to take the online survey, or pick up a paper copy in the back of church. Each member of your household is encouraged to participate, with one response per person. Your feedback is an important part of shaping the future of our parish and helping us serve the evolving needs of our faith community. 2026 Catholic Higher Education Collection

The weekend of September 19 & 20, our parish will take up the annual collection for Catholic higher education. Catholic colleges and universities strive to form students in the spirit of faith and educate them in the richness of the Catholic intellectual tradition. This collection supports the Catholic University of America as well the two Catholic universities in our Archdiocese – Bellarmine University and Spalding University.

Let’s Reimagine Youth Ministry Together! 

Our parish and school are beginning an exciting conversation about reimagining and revitalizing the Youth Ministry Program—creating opportunities for our young people to grow closer to Jesus, build friendships, serve others, and feel connected to our Catholic community. 

We invite our youth, parents, parishioners, and school families to pray for this process and share their ideas as we discern a Christ-centered, welcoming, and engaging future for youth ministry. Please pick up a prayer card in the back of the church designed to specifically pray for the future of our youth program.

We are counting on the parish community to assist us in this revitalization. Adults and Youth (Grades 6 – 12) that are interested in learning about the many areas of opportunity where your time and talents can be utilized to serve the young people of our parish, please contact Erin Carter at erincarter52@outlook.com or 502-533-1927 by October 18. 

Together, we hope to guide our efforts in proclaiming the Good News, connecting young people with the faith community, and encouraging our youth to answer the call of discipleship. We are excited to create a ministry where every young person knows they belong, are loved by God, and have an important place in our church.

Louisville Catholic Youth Conference (LCYC)

Registration is NOW Open for LCYC- February 26, 27 and 28, 2027.  This exciting 3-day conference for high schoolers will lead teens into a deeper encounter with Jesus, who knows them, loves them, and calls them to follow Him wholeheartedly. Through engaging talks, dynamic worship, Eucharistic adoration, and an authentic experience of community, participants will be invited to root themselves in their identity as beloved children of God, let go of what holds them back, and say ‘yes’ to the adventure of following Jesus Christ.All information will be updated as plans are being made.  Be sure to check out the LCYC WEBPAGE.

Markey's Group

The next gathering of Markey’s Group will take place on Tuesday, September 15th, 5:00p.m. at Silvio's Italian Restaurant, 104 Fairfax Avenue. (across from Trinity H.S.) To help us plan seating, RSVP to Mary Anne Davis at 502-553-0022 no later than Monday, September 14th. Markey’s Group invites anyone who has experienced the loss of a spouse to join us for socializing and the enjoyment of a good meal.

Seasonal Flower Ministry

Save the Date! Weekend of September 19th & 20th 

Let our parishioners know you care by bringing a flower to one of our ill, homebound or bereaved. Just choose a flower with name and card attached provided by your Pastoral Care Team and deliver. It’s that easy! Thanks for spreading the love!

Grief Support Group

An 8-week grief support group will meet Mondays, October through November from 12:30–2:00 p.m. at St. Albert the Great. Led by Lisa Ratterman and based on Alan Wolfelt’s book Understanding Your Grief, the group will provide guidance and support for those who have lost a loved one, helping participants honor their grief and discover new hope. Free and open to all.

Families new to the school may apply for enrollment between September 15 and October 31, 2026. Applications must be submitted electronically through FACTS Management using the Apply Now link on our website, beginning September 15. All supporting documents must be submitted no later than October 31, 2026, for your application to be considered complete and ready for review during the application period.
