It is with great pleasure to announce that it is time to begin the process of identifying new members for the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC). In consultation with the Pastor, the PPC actively listens to and identifies the needs and concerns of the parishioners and develops a parish pastoral plan to respond to these needs working closely with the parish staff. The Council also seeks to implement the plan by seeking the involvement of parishioners.
Four parishioners will be selected out of all nominees on Pentecost Sunday.
Nomination identification is open until Sunday, May 17, 2026
Nominees will be contacted individually to discuss and confirm interest.
New members will be identified on May 24, 2026,10:30 a.m. Mass, Pentecost Sunday
The new pastoral council members will be blessed by the community on May 31, 2026

The weekend of May 23- 24, our parish will take up donations for the Catholic World Missions Collection. Your donations help the Church's missionary work, providing monetary assistance for the pastoral and evangelizing programs of the Church in the United States, Africa, Asia, the Pacific islands, and remote regions of Latin America. Donations fund the education and support of seminarians, religious novices, and lay catechists; the work of religious communities in education, health care, and social services; communication and transportation needs; disaster and emergency relief when necessary; and the Church’s ministry to children.
Next weekend (May 23/24) the church will celebrate the great Solemnity of Pentecost. Easter Time comes to its glorious conclusion with this celebration which the Church celebrates 50 days after Easter Sunday. The word, Pentecost, means 50 days or 50th day in Greek. Pentecost is sometimes called the birthday of the Church because it was only after the Apostles were filled with the gifts of the Spirit that they set forth on the mission Christ gave them, to preach the Good News and to baptize all nations.
In honor of this great celebration of the Church, all are invited to wear red which is the liturgical color for this day. We will also be welcoming catechumens and candidates into the church during the 10:30am Mass.
Our book for May will be Mother Angelica: The Remarkable Story of a Nun, Her Nerve, and a Network of Miracles by Raymond Arroyo. We will meet on the last Thursday of the month, May 28th at 10am in the Sacred Heart Center. All are welcome! No reservation needed. Just read the book and show up!

Client story: We provided rent assistance to a recently separated nurse who is the mother of 4-year-old with severe disabilities. Her daughter’s SSI benefits were mistakenly cut the same month her hospital employer ended bonus hour opportunities. Multiple phone calls got the SSI reinstated but it will take 6-8 weeks for the check to be processed. The temporary loss of benefits plus the loss of expected income means she needed rent help for that month.
