Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) Nominations

It is with great pleasure to announce that it is time to begin the process of identifying new members for the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC). In consultation with the Pastor, the PPC actively listens to and identifies the needs and concerns of the parishioners and develops a parish pastoral plan to respond to these needs working closely with the parish staff. The Council also seeks to implement the plan by seeking the involvement of parishioners.

Four parishioners will be selected out of all nominees on Pentecost Sunday. 

• Nomination identification is open until Sunday, May 17, 2026

• Nominees will be contacted individually to discuss and confirm interest.

• New members will be identified on May 24, 2026,10:30 a.m. Mass, Pentecost Sunday

• The new pastoral council members will be blessed by the community on May 31, 2026

Semiquincentennial Anniversary Masses

To mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, the Cathedral of the Assumption is offering a Trinity of Prayer Services in Thanksgiving and Intercession for our Country.

• The Patriotic Rosary, following Noon Mass on Sunday, May 17, the United States National Day of Prayer.

• Vigil Mass in Honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 6:30pm on Thursday, June 11 , the day the U.S. bishops will consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

• Independence Day Mass at the Cathedral on our nation’s 250th birthday, Saturday, July 4 at 9:30 am, preceding the special civic celebration two blocks away in front of Metro Hall at 11am.

Catholic World Mission Collection

The weekend of May 23- 24, our parish will take up donations for the Catholic World Missions Collection. Your donations help the Church's missionary work, providing monetary assistance for the pastoral and evangelizing programs of the Church in the United States, Africa, Asia, the Pacific islands, and remote regions of Latin America. Donations fund the education and support of seminarians, religious novices, and lay catechists; the work of religious communities in education, health care, and social services; communication and transportation needs; disaster and emergency relief when necessary; and the Church’s ministry to children.

St. Albert Book Club

Our book for May will be Mother Angelica: The Remarkable Story of a Nun, Her Nerve, and a Network of Miracles by Raymond Arroyo. We will meet on the last Thursday of the month, May 28th at 10am in the Sacred Heart Center. All are welcome! No reservation needed. Just read the book and show up! 

PREP Registration

We warmly welcome all parish students who are not enrolled in a Catholic school to join our Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) at St. Albert the Great. Open to students in kindergarten through 8th grade, PREP meets on Sundays from 9:00 to 10:15 AM. It provides a strong foundation in the Catholic faith, includes sacramental preparation, and offers students the opportunity to participate in St. Albert Athletic Ministry (SAAM) sports.

Markey's Group

Markey’s Group invites anyone who has experienced the loss of a spouse to join us for socializing and the enjoyment of a good meal.

People of Hope Museum

Catholic Charities invites you to visit PEOPLE OF HOPE: Faith-Filled Stories of Neighbors Helping Neighbors, a nationwide storytelling exhibition designed to amplify the profound impact of Christian service. SVDP: Helping Our Neighbors in Need

We recently assisted a client with rent after he financially assisted his injured mom with her bills the same month he had a flat tire. Tire shop discovered he’d been driving on 4 nearly bald tires. Replacing those tires and helping with his mom’s bills had depleted his rent money for that month.

In the Gospel today, Jesus says to us: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments…Whoever loves me will be loved by my Father and I will love him and reveal myself to him.

When we give to the poor, God indeed pours his love, peace and joy into our hearts, into our lives and through us into the hearts of those who are poor.

The Marian Center Our Lady of the Rosary Pilgrimage

Welcome to our 3rd annual pilgrimage in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary. We will be traveling to Our Lady of Champion, Wisconsin to see the site of the only Vatican approved apparition of Mary, with many other spiritual and inspirational stops along the way.
