The best way to learn is through experience and we believe that CUS offers an experience of a Christian community that will help each pupil that comes to it to become the person that God intended him to be. We believe in providing a balance in pupils’ lives by offering opportunities to develop rounded personalities and a sense of responsibility in their personal lives. We do this because we believe in educating the whole person - their minds and bodies but above all their hearts and spirits.
Catholic University School is a private Boys’ school for ages 3 to 18. It is located in the heart of Dublin. St Alban’s has strong bonds with CUS through its exchange program and because both schools are founded on strong Christian principles.
There are two different incoming exchanges with this particular partnership. The first involves individuals involved in cricket who will thus visit St Alban’s in the summer sporting season. The other exchange focuses on Rugby players from CUS so they will visit during the winter sporting season. The successful St Alban’s applicants will either host the incoming students of the first exchange or the second.
Even though there is a strong emphasis on sport at CUS, our students do not necessarily have to be strong sportsmen, but it would be beneficial to their experience. Students of the College will be hosted in the homes of students at CUS giving them wonderful exposure to the Irish culture and way of life. They will all travel to Dublin for a period of 4-6 weeks between September and October. Costs for extra excursions or activities are negotiated between the host and visitor.
