Elle is a repeat winner on the track this season, but her performance at the Salina Central Invitational on May 3rd makes her extremely deserving! She cut off half a second in her SB 200m time and missed her personal best in the 100m by just 4 hundreths of a second. She delivered an incredible performance as the anchor leg of the 4x100, taking the Stangs from 6th to 3rd on the back stretch. She then ran a 61 second split in the 4x400 in her 6th and final race of the day! Extemely impressive day from the young lady!
Girl's Field Athlete of the week
McKynlee Dunlap, So. Throws
McKynlee is a true competitor and has been battling hard this season to try and reach new heights and marks. Last week McKynlee set a new personal best of 4' 8" in the high jump and threw a new personal best of 96' 10" in the javelin which beat her previous PR by over 2 feet.
Boy's Track Athlete of the week
Kamryn Jones, Jr. Sprints
Due to injury, Kamryn ran his first nearly full meet of the season at home on May 3rd and had a blazing fast performance. He placed 2nd with a PR of 10.82 in the 100 finals which ranks him 6th in 5A. His anchor leg of the 4x100 pulled us into scoring and was really impressive to see. We are excited to see one of the fastest kids in the state start to compete for the Stangs again!
Boy's Field Athlete of the week
Eli Jennings, So. Shotput
Eli has not missed a weekend session this season, and works extremely hard to meet goals weekly. He is within inches of setting his own personal goal this season, but is close to being a competitive 5A thrower already. We are really excited for the future of our young throwers and Eli is an integral piece of the Bomb Squad!
