My name is Ann Tinker-Jackson. I have been teaching for 22 years and this is my fourth year as an EL teacher at Sunnyide. I became passionate about teaching children who speak languages other than English when I taught in Europe in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. That year I had 17 students in my classroom that spoke 11 different languages (Spanish, French, Japanese, Chinese, Bosnian, Swedish. among others). I was amazed at children who were learning in more than one language. When I moved to Colorado, I taught students who spoke Spanish, Burmese and Bosnian. I went back to school to learn how to better teach students that were learning English. My son goes to Forest Glen and is learning in Spanish and teaching me. I love teaching.
