Hello and welcome to the Year 1 Schemes of Learning, where you will find an overview of what your child will be studying during the academic year. My name is Aimie Evans and I am so excited to be your class's teacher this year. Throughout this year, we will balance structured academic growth in reading, writing and Mathematics, with plenty of hands-on exploration and social emotional development. My goal is to guide your child to become a confident, curious and independent learner who is excited to come to school every single day. We aim to deliver learning through enjoyable, enriching and engaging  activities, which allow our students to develop their skills creatively and collaboratively. You will have access to all lesson coverage as well as extensions to learning  that could be completed, at home, in order to further extend your child’s learning.  It is my key belief and philosophy in teaching that if a child is not happy, they cannot learn, therefore, this will be one of the key priorities in my classroom this first term and throughout the year.
