Texas Success Initiative Assessment
Texas Success Initiative Assessment
What is the TSI?
The TSI Assessment is part of the Texas Success Initiative program designed to help your college or university determine if you are ready for college-level course work in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. If you are an incoming college student in Texas, you are required to take the TSI Assessment, unless you meet an exemption criteria, to determine your readiness for college-level work. The TSI is also used for students taking dual credit. In the chart below, you can see exemptions & the dual credit waivers available for dual credit students.

You will register at this site with basic info - make sure you use a personal email address so you can get the scores. Once you graduate, the lisd email address will not be active. You will have to register as you do not have an account yet most likely. There are several options on the Accuplacer link. You want the PAA which is item #3. There are practice tests listed too. You can do those, but that is not the PAA. The PAA (stands for pre-assessment activity) must be done in order to test. The practice tests are to prepare you if you want to practice to take the TSI test.
