The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is structured similarly to the SAT®, has the same sections and timing, and measures the same Reading and Writing and Math skills students learn in the classroom.  

It serves four purposes:

• Allows students to compare their academic abilities with other college-bound students at their specific grade level.

• Familiarizes students with the SAT.

• Shows the student areas on which he/she may need to concentrate additional preparation before taking the SAT.

• Allows college-bound juniors to compete for National Merit Scholarships

Students enrolled in 11th grade at a campus in Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) are eligible to participate in PSAT/NMSQT testing at LISD campuses. The 2025-2026 registration window is August 18th – September 5th, 2025, until 4:00 p.m. Students will be unable to register after the registration deadline.

 All updates regarding this exam will be sent via email.

Scores will be available online in November

Exam begins at 8:20 am sharp - late students will not be allowed to enter exam room

There is no make up date

Registration for LHS 11th graders only -- Exam fee $14.00

Check, Cash (Exact Change) or Credit Card is accepted.

Payment due by 4:00 pm 9/8/25

Any registration with an outstanding balance will be canceled unless prior arrangements have been made.
