LISD requires background checks on anyone wishing to volunteer in the school or attend a Field Trip. These need to be completed at least 3 weeks ahead of the needed date to be processed in time.
To complete the Background Check Application:

Create an account and do background check @https://Lewisvilleisd.VOLY.org

Daily take home folders
Parents, please do not remove ANY papers from this folder! This is our "works in progress" folder for all subjects. Some papers main remain in the folder for only a day while others may remain for a couple of weeks or more. We will tell students when they may remove items from the folder. If you take anything out of the folder, you may be hindering your child's learning if they need that paper the next day in class. Thank you for your help with this.

2 Forms of Communication with Parents in 5th Grade
We have 2 major ways of communicating with parents in 5th grade. You can always check these for information and answers to your questions about upcoming due dates, important events, etc.
Weekly Newsletter/Website - Mrs. Thacker and Ms. Kelly have one website together which contains information about important dates, contact information, curriculum, information, etc. The Home Page of the site is our combined Newsletter. This page is updated weekly with the coming week's information. Dates for the year are along the left side, and the curriculum for the week is at the bottom of the page.
Email - You can always email us with questions or concerns. We get email messages quicker than phone messages, so if you would like to talk by phone, the best way to do that is to send us a quick email asking us to call you, with the number where you can be reached and a good time to call. Please keep in mind, that we will not be able to call you during the school day while we have kids in the classroom. Questions about specific subject areas can be directed to the teacher for that subject:
