All 7th grade and new students to Christian Life School are automatically placed on one-semester academic/behavior probation. If during that time, the administration and/or faculty feels the student is not responding positively to the school rules or academic regulations, the student and his/her family will be called in for a conference. At that time, a decision will be made for future enrollment at Christian Life School. After the probationary period, a student can still be released for conduct unbecoming to the betterment of Christian Life School.
Christian Life’s progressive discipline policy includes a point system attached to behavioral infractions. According to this policy, “Students ending the year with 15 or more points will start the following year with 10 points and will be put on a Conditional Enrollment Agreement” (See the “Discipline” section of the Student Handbook). If a new student’s behavior record from their past school includes infractions that would have equalled or exceeded 15 points according to CLS Middle/High School disciplinary policies, the student may be denied admission or allowed to enroll under the Conditional Enrollment Agreement, which includes beginning the new year with 10 points automatically applied to their behavior record. This policy applies to all students new to the CLS Middle/High School, including those transferring from other schools and those moving up from the CLS Elementary School.
Most textbooks and workbooks required are currently furnished to the students by Christian Life School. In case of loss or damage, the student is held liable for repair or replacement costs of school books. Some individual class books may have to be purchased. All reusable books must be covered with appropriate book covers.
Students may purchase lunch options at school or bring their own lunch from home. For school lunch options, CLS partners with The Yay Company where families have two purchasing options: Yay Cafe grab’n’go meals/snacks or pre-order meals. Families must create a free account, including payment information, through the Yay Company app (theyaycompany.com) to make purchases. All charges are billed on the Saturday following service. Access to transactions are available through The Yay Company’s app, including viewing menus, ordering, reviewing your child’s purchases, and setting daily spending limits. Pre-order meals must be submitted through the app by Sunday at noon for the following week. Orders can be submitted as late 10am the day before, but will incur a 50-cent late fee. Yay Cafe grab’n’go items can be purchased in-person using the student’s Cafe ID information.
Juniors and seniors are permitted to have lunch in the Journey Youth Cafe area while 7th - 10th graders will eat lunch in the cafeteria. Students must remain in their designated lunch area for the duration of the lunch period. Students will not be allowed to go off campus for lunch.
Christian Life School believes that the use of technology is an extremely valuable part of a well-balanced education. Our goal is for all electronic devices to be used appropriately by the members of our student body. Cell phones and electronic devices are a privilege and students should follow school and individual classroom rules. If it is believed that an electronic device was used inappropriately, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.

The State of Wisconsin mandates us to report any indication of possible neglect, abuse, or criminal activity which comes to our attention. Please be assured that we respect your integrity as a family. If inquiries are ever to be made, however, it is done with our concern for the student and to fulfill our legal obligations.
If a student has any food restrictions or physical limitations, please bring it to our attention, including the CLS Health Office. Also, as you read the monthly menus or field trip notices, a short reminder note to the appropriate staff would be appreciated.
Christian Life School may dismiss a student from enrollment based on our academic, discipline, and attendance policies. Students may also be dismissed if a student's needs are beyond the capabilities of our staff and resources. This may include, but is not limited to academic needs, physical/mental health needs, and supervision or behavioral needs.
Christian Life School will close whenever disastrous situations or severe weather conditions dictate closing. A decision will be made by the Head of School to close the school. At CLS, we strive to support our students by providing counseling in the following areas:
Academic
College/Career
Personal
Academic: Scheduling, course planning, credit tracking, and academic support are available through the School Counselor and the Learning Success Center. As a team, we work to help students find the best pathway to maximizing their potential and prepare for the colleges and careers of their choice.
College/Career: At CLS, we have a partnership through Carthage College using their Suitable platform for College and Career Planning. This platform allows students to accomplish tasks that directly support the exploration and formation of their future pursuits. With insightful lessons and experiential learning, students explore their future goals and passions to shape them into their future reality. All students also have access to Big Future through The College Board as a college and career planning resource. Please create an account and explore the different careers, colleges, scholarships, and other great resources available through this tool. The School Counselor will also discuss individual college and career goals to find ways the school can support each student’s future pursuits.
Personal: CLS seeks to support students and provide exceptional care as they navigate school and life. We welcome any student needing social-emotional and mental health support to visit the School Counselor. The goal of School Counseling is to see every student reach their full academic and personal potential. A School Counselor helps students who are struggling to participate in the classroom successfully. If students are unable to return to class successfully after visiting the School Counselor, they will be required to go home for the remainder of the day. In addition, students with needs that cannot reasonably be supported will be referred for outside professional counseling.
Each student will be issued an ID that bears his/her photograph. ID pictures will be taken at the beginning of the school year. Lost or stolen ID cards should be reported to the Middle/High School Office and a replacement will be issued at the student’s expense. Students must keep their ID with them at all times.
Christian Life School takes pictures and videos of both staff and students throughout the year for the yearbook, social media, and other publications to promote the school.
The Biblical and philosophical goal of Christian Life School is to develop students into mature Christ-like individuals who will be able to exhibit a Christ-like lifestyle. Of necessity, this involves the school’s understanding and belief of what qualities or characteristics exemplify a Christ-like life. Even though parents may personally believe differently, while enrolled at Christian Life School, the students are expected to exhibit the qualities of a Christ-like life supported and taught by the school and to refrain from certain activities or behaviors. Thus, Christian Life School retains the right to refuse enrollment to or to expel any student who demonstrates a record of sexual immorality, drug or alcohol use, unlawful activity, cheating/dishonesty, or other behaviors contrary to Biblical teachings.

It is also important to note that students will be held accountable for all transmissions sent/posted via media even when done outside of school hours.

Any unsafe or reckless driving will immediately revoke this privilege and may result in disciplinary action.
