St. Jean Baptiste De La Salle Poem
Rejoice! The Father of Education
founder of our schools
We can never thank your dedication
for giving us such jewels
Though you were born rich
with abundance of wine and gold
But the luxuries were not your wish
for you saw than the wealth you hold
To me you are more than a saint or priest
you are wonder to my eyes
A hero you are at least
for your work in transforming lives
Please stay by me, until the end
shine on me, with your everlasting light
Don’t leave my side, my friend
Shine on me, tall and bright
Rejoice! The Father of Education
founder of our schools
We can never thank your dedication
for giving us such jewels

Why I chose a powerpoint presentation on Jean Baptiste
Power Point is great for audio, images and videos to have a greater visual impact. You have the freedom to customize your presentation and your theme for your Power Point.
I like doing slide shows and for the people looking at the presentation it is very easy to see all the information.
I think the powerpoint is very effective because you have lots of images and visuals. This means that everyone can enjoy the presentation even if they are not great at reading or writing.
I think Jean Baptiste is inspiring because he helped poor children and he set up schools so they could get an education. They did not have have to pay for their education so everyone had a chance to be educated.
I think it was very important for poor people at that time to get an education so they had a chance to get a decent job. Before this nobody would hire them and they were often living on the streets and ended up in prison.
I hope this powerpoint gives a bit more information about how Jean Baptiste changed the lives for poor people

I heard my teacher talking about a rap and I thought it would be a good idea to do a Jean Baptiste rap.
I think a rap is good because it is always important to put in some details from his life. I don’t think that people would normally do a Jean Baptiste rap so this is something unique that I did. I think this would make people sit up and listen to all the things that Jean Baptiste did to help the poor.
I looked at Jean Baptiste’s story and I added some details into this to make an interesting rap about his life.
My next step is to do the lyrics and to get someone to sing it and to create and instrumental. I think this is something I will work on for our founder’s day celebrations.
I would like to get a someone to wear a white 1700’s wig and they can also wear the clothes they like and then do the rap.
I will make a lyrics video and also a music video.
I know Jean Baptiste wanted to inspire and help poor people and he wanted to be a good man. That’s why I was happy to do a rap about him.
Painting and Slides by Jack Doyle
Why I chose a painting of Jean Baptiste La Salle.
As I said in my powerpoint to accompany my painting, I was inspired to do a painting so people could see the man that Jean Baptiste was.
I feel that the powerpoint explains and gives a little bit of a flavour of the man who was Jean Baptise and the sacrifices he made in order to help people less well fortunate than himself.
I like the combination of the visual of the painting and the explanation of the slides.
I feel that Jean Baptiste could have taken the easy route in life, lived in luxury with his family but instead he devoted his life to helping the poor and the people who society had forgotten.
This idea of equality and opportunity has continued until this day.
