Together we decided to create two paintings that captured the theme of the competition.
The first painting is an image of two hands around the earth with a bible quote and the Lasallian stars.
The earth represents our life spent here and how our faith is part of our life from beginning to end.
The two hands above and below are to show that 'One man' means all men are one and equal to each other.
These link with our core principles- particularly Faith in the Presence of God.
The second painting is a celebration of 'One LaSalle' and how we are celebrated in the Lasallian family. Inclusive community and respect for all persons are reflected in this piece.
We really enjoyed working together and creating our pieces for the Lasallian competition.

We worked on this piece as part of our wellbeing class. Over the course of our wellbeing module we learned about St John Baptist De La Salle and what it means to be Lasallian. We discussed how Lasallians are role models for others and just like St John Baptist De La Salle, one man, we too can make a difference. Over three hundred years ago he had a vision and through hard work and dedication he made a difference and his legacy is visible all over the world. We spoke about being a role model in our class and chose this quote as it reflected this. We can make a difference too or be part of a change.
We all worked on a star each and designed it in wharever way we anted - like the star each of us is unique and have something different to offer the world. We are all special in our own way. We enjoyed working together as a group and we hope you like our piece of artwork

For our entry we decided to create a 3D piece using the word 'One' and decorating it with images from the theme.
We used:
A Sunset to represent One Life
An image of Jean Baptiste De La Salle for One Man
And
A map of the Ireland, Great Britain and Malta for One LaSalle.
We constructed the letters using cardboard and painted the images using acrylic paint.
We really enjoyed the process of working together to make our submission.

We worked on this display as part of our wellbeing class. During our wellbeing module we learned about St John Baptist De La Salle and what it means to be Lasallian. We learned about how St John Baptist De La Salle who was just one man made a difference in france but also throughout the world.
We made posters of what makes us Lasallian and took pictures of each other. This surrounds the outside of the display. Inside there is a map of the world. We learned about Lasallian Projects all over the world and our teacher showed us the book about 365 Lasallian Projects. We all picked a different one and wrote the name on a star with some information. We also included schools and college, including our own. John Baptist De La Salle's influence can be seen all over the world.
We chose a quote that sums up the theme of the project and the competition
"You can do more with the grace of God than what you think" St John Baptist De La Salle
