For regular updates on all the exciting things we are getting up to in school, you'll need to follow us @StStephensCofE. Don't miss out!
We have exciting news about our French classes! We now have French ambassadors in years 4, 5 and 6 – or we should say un ambassadeur et une ambassadrice in each class!
Our newly-appointed French ambassadors have the very important task of … speaking French!
They will be using our target language outside of our French classes, at drop-off, lunchtime, playtime, pick-up time, by starting up conversations with their peers (and teachers - beware!). They will be greeting everyone in French, asking questions, using high frequency words and going over our newly-acquired vocabulary. So be vigilant, they might be even speaking French at home! Their peers in class can also ask them questions to keep them on task.
The following children have been volunteering for this role:
Year 4 Rashford: Annabel and Eli
Year 4 Turing: James and Sarah
Year 5 Attenborough: Bartu and Isla
Year 5 Lau: Nisha and Theo
Year 6 Obama: Samara and Thomas
Year 6 Kamkwamba: Jacob and Tina
If you are as keen on dancing as Anning class's Billy Bear, your aim in life is probably a visit to the Strictly Come Dancing television set. But how to manage it? Even dancing bears need friends in the right places and that's where kind Archie and Freddie came in. It just so happens that their Dad works on Strictly and after a quiet word in his ear, the boys took Billy along to the studio to make all his dancing dreams come true. He got to meet loads of the Strictly gang and even got to perch on the judges' desks. Don't tell Craig! Our only worry now is if his twin brother Bobby finds out, he will want to go too! Oh dear. Either way Billy had a wonderful time and has been showing us his cha cha cha which is now much improved after getting a few tips from Gorka. Thank you boys, you have made a quick stepping bear very happy. Keeeeeeep Dancing.
