You may remember that FOSS recently won a national competition run by PTA Events. Our entry featured a photo of our legendary Rugby Stall, and the judges were particularly impressed by how actively our St Stephen’s pupils get involved in fundraising for their school.
This week, the win became official as we were joined by David Cooke, the Founder and CEO of PTA Events. David visited us in person to formally present the school with our prize: a brand-new FOSS marquee!
This new marquee is a fantastic upgrade that will certainly take our rugby stall to the next level, providing much-needed shelter for our volunteers and a great hub for the community on match days.
Did you know that some of our most successful fundraising happens right on our doorstep during Rugby match days?
We have a dedicated core group of volunteers, headed-up by Dianne and Lou, who work incredibly hard to raise thousands of pounds for our school every year. What makes this fundraising so vital is that it doesn't rely on our own parent community to provide the funds - instead, we tap into the crowds passing by!
It is always a fantastic, high-energy atmosphere, and the children who come along to help always have a brilliant time being part of the match day buzz. It’s a wonderful way to support the school while enjoying the local community spirit.
We are looking for volunteers to help us keep this success going. There are two ways you can help:
Give a Little Time: Help us man the stalls and greet the fans on the day.
Provide Donations: We are always in need of food and drink to sell. Savoury snacks are always a hit - sausage rolls in particular go down brilliantly with the passers-by!
If you can spare some time or provide a donation for any of the upcoming dates, please join our FOSS WhatsApp community here
