Last week we attended the annual county cross country meet, with all the local schools competing. We came a fabulous third overall, with our boys running in at second place and the girls crossing the finishing line an unbelievable sixth. All our boys finished in the top 35, while all our girls were placed in the top 60. It was amazing to see more than 600 children running. We must give a particular mention to the performance of the day from Violet, who finished third overall - this is the most wonderful achievement. I am so very proud of our runners. Well done Violet, Sarah, Isla, Emi, Florence Miriam, Raff, Eli, Oli, Alex J, Alex G and Freddie.
The girls were confident going into the tournament after their previous fixtures and it showed in their performances. We finished joint top in our group and headed into the cup draw. Unfortunately, the results did not go our way but the resilience and determination showed by the team was to be admired. We finished in the top 20 of all the schools in the borough.
A massive well done to Florence, Emi, Niamh, Sassy, Violet, Alana, Miriam, Isla.

Our Year Six children are looking at the meaning of Christmas. We were very lucky to have some sessions with Lauren from St Stephen's Church, who explained to us how the church advertises at Christmas. She told us that the advertisements publicise the Christmas services. Everyone is welcome and the money raised from congregation donations goes to local charities. For Christians, Christmas is a time of celebrating the birth of Jesus and coming together as a community and thinking of others.
