Staffing News - Fond Farewells
Further to our staffing news last week, we are saying a fond farewell to Jane Lindenberg, who is leaving after a wonderful year of teaching the whole school to sing. Jane brought such joy and energy to our music, leading beautiful singing at our church services and even took the choir to perform at the Rose Theatre. Her passion for music has inspired so many of our pupils, and she will be greatly missed. We wish her all the very best for what comes next.
Welcome to Our Staff Team!
As we say fond farewells to some much-loved members of staff, we’re also delighted to welcome new faces to the St Stephen’s community for the upcoming academic year.
We’re delighted to welcome Freya Jiang, who will be leading whole school singing and also teaching singing lessons in Year 4. A fabulous musician with many years of teaching experience, Freya brings great energy and expertise to our team. We’re excited to have her join us and look forward to the musical inspiration she’ll bring to the school.
We’re also delighted to welcome Monica Davidian to our Year 1 team. She will be working on Thursdays in Pankhurst Class and brings with her a wealth of experience, particularly in leading early reading. We’re thrilled to have her on board and know she will be a great support to both children and staff.
As we shared last week, our beloved Maggie Libura will be leaving her role as in-house mentor at St Stephen’s. While we will miss her deeply, we are delighted to announce that Emily Scoffield will be taking on the role. Having worked with us over the past year, Emily already knows many of our children and is excited to get to know those she hasn’t yet met. She brings a wealth of experience in counselling and, as a valued member of our St Stephen’s family, we couldn’t wish for a better person to step into this important role.
Lemonade with a Purpose!
We’ve seen more wonderful initiative from our Year 3 pupils in Thunberg Class—well done to Neeve, Ela, and Isla, who raised an impressive £60 for charity and the school by selling homemade lemonade and ice lollies at Moormead Park.
Their creativity, teamwork, and community spirit were truly inspiring. Even Miss Mowbray popped by to support and enjoy a refreshing treat! Fantastic work, girls! We are so lucky to have you in our community.
Summer Reading Challenge 2025
Next week, Twickenham Library will be visiting to inspire us all to get reading over the summer holidays and take part in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge! Developed by The Reading Agency, the challenge is a free programme designed to encourage children aged 4–11 to keep reading throughout the holidays.
The 2025 theme is Story Garden: Adventures in Nature and the Great Outdoors, celebrating storytelling and the wonders of the natural world. Children can join by visiting their local library, setting their own reading goal, and collecting rewards along the way for the books they read and enjoy.
It’s a fantastic way to help prevent the summer reading dip and foster a lifelong love of books. We hope as many of you as possible will take part!
