On Monday, we travelled to Vineyard for our boys’ football fixture. The team were eager to get started, having had the original fixture postponed the previous week, and were very much looking forward to the challenge. Despite a determined and spirited performance, Vineyard secured a well-deserved 2–0 victory. We battled hard throughout the match but were unable to find a way through their defence.
Ruzgar delivered an outstanding performance in goal, making several excellent reflex saves to prevent Vineyard from increasing their lead. His efforts undoubtedly earned him the Man of the Match award.
Well done to Raife, Spencer, Ben, Noah, Ato, Niamh and Henry for their commitment and effort.
Our Years 5 and 6 Tag Rugby team put on a spectacular display of skill and spirit at the recent league fixtures, finishing the day with three wins out of four matches. The afternoon was defined by attacking flair, disciplined defense, and, most importantly, brilliant teamwork.
Victory vs. Chase Bridge (4–1): The team set the tone early with a confident opening game. By moving the ball wide and creating space, they found the gaps in the defense. Combined with some incredibly sharp tagging, it was a deserved and convincing win.
A Defensive Masterclass vs. TPA (1–0): This was a nail-biter! In a tight tactical battle, our defense was the star of the show. The players showed immense patience and discipline, waiting for that one crucial scoring chance to clinch the victory.
Dominance vs. Orleans (4–0): This was arguably the "complete performance" of the day. Communication was at an all-time high as the team controlled possession from start to finish. A clean sheet and four great tries showed exactly what this team is capable of when they play in sync.
Resilience vs. Sir Richard Reynolds (1–4): The final match was a tough test against a very fast SRR side. While the scoreline didn't go our way, the team never gave up. They competed for every tag until the final whistle, showing the true resilience we value in our athletes.
With three wins under their belts, there are so many positives to take away from this tournament. The progress in both attack and defense is clear to see, and the team should be incredibly proud of how they represented the school.
Well done to all the players!
