In EYFS, children develop their art and design skills through focused activities as well as a range of activities which are set up across the classroom for children to choose from. A variety of mark-making materials such as colouring pencils, chalk and felt-tip pens are made readily available for children to select independently and use to explore their creativity. Children also develop their painting skills in a child-led way where they are encouraged to explore, experiment and follow their own curiosity. Children also use the outdoor space to continue developing their creativity.
