Mae Engron was born in 1942 and died in 2007. She is known for organic form abstract painting.
ORGANIC: shapes, often curvy in appearance, that are similar to those found in nature, such as plants, animals, and rocks.
Abstract art has colors, lines and shapes, but is not designed to represent living things or actual objects.
Mae Alice Engron was born, raised, and died in Indianapolis, Indiana. After poverty, divorce, raising children, and seven years working at the Postal Service, she attended Herron School of Art, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the age of 42. She had success creating her own unique version of abstract art.
Mae’s signature on her pieces – MAE – is as recognizable as her work.
