Sep 23, 2023: Finally accepted!!
The Ms. Tateno's manuscript was accepted for publication in Hydrolgical Research Letters.
The first submission result was a rejection, but after about a year of work to correct the problems, her paper was successfully accepted. During this period, she redid the calculations many times. She seemed discouraged many times, but I guess her continuous effort and her energy made it accepted.
The reviewers and editors gave me very detailed and accurate comments. Thanks to them, the content of the paper has been greatly improved. We would like to express our sincere thanks to them.

Apr 1, 2023: A New Ph.D student
Mr. Sheikh Hefzul Bari officially joined our Ph.D. program in Fukusuhima Univerisyt to pursue his research on watershed-scale sediment dynamics.
We are looking forward to enjoying a new adventure with him!
Apr 1, 2023: A New Visiting Research Fellow
Dr. Chris Leong officially joined our laboratory as a visiting research fellow to our Faculty of Symbiotic Systems Science, Fukushima University.
He is one of our OBs/OGs and he would strongly support our activity.
May 24, 2022: Farewell to Dr. Chris Leong
It is glad to announce that Dr. Chris Leong will soon start to work at the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature as of June 1, 2022. It means he must leave Fukushima university by May 31, 2022. Upon this occasion, we had a small farewell gathering after our weekly lab meeting on May 24 with the supports by students led by Sheikh and Ms. Tateno.
Chris joined our group in October 2014 as a MEXT scholarship student and he entered our Master's program in April 2015. Then he continued his research in our Doctoral program in April 2017 to obtain his Ph.D in March 2020. Since April 2020, he have been worked as a post-doctoral research fellow for our project by today. His distinguished achievements can be confirmed in his 6 papers and 4 awards.
It is sad to leave him from our group, but we would like to congratulate his departure toward more glorious future.

Apr 18, 2022: Mr. Sheikh Hefzul Bari arrived
We are glad to inform that Mr. Sheikh Hefzul Bari had arrived at Fukushima on April 16 and started to join our group on April 18. He was selected a MEXT scholarship student to our group in 2021 but we have to wait a chance to travel from Japan to Bangladesh under the global spread of the COVID-19 and difficult Japanese boarder controls.
We should experience a completely different culture and we would like to support him so that we can be familiar with his life in Fukushima.
Mar 28, 2022: Chris's paper was accepted for publication!!
We are glad to inform that a Chris's latest work was accepted for publication by Hydrological Processes. I guess this is a Chris's masterpiece by today and we hope this paper can contribute to the future of rainfall-runoff modeling and flow duration curve studies. Congratulations to Chris!!
We would like to thank Prof. Botter who handled our paper as the editor in charge and two anonymous reviewers who provided continuous efforts for improving and finalizing our paper.

Sep. 20, 2021: A review paper was accepted for publication
We are pleased to announce that a review paper by Dr. Chris Leong was accepted for publication today. This paper summarizes the recent progress in the flow curves studies based on the literature review part of his doctoral dissertation, which is a groundbreaking achievement for our laboratory and we are very happy to see Chris's efforts come to fruition.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Chris Leong, our post-doctoral research fellow, received the 2021 Construction Engineering Research Promotion Award from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Construction Engineering Research. The certificate will be sent by postal mail and the prize money for his research will be transferred to the bank account of our university, because the ceremony can not be held under the current COVID-19 situation.

Two awards from the Japan Society of Hydrology and Water Resources to us!!
We received two awards simultaneously from the Japan Society of Hydrology and Water Resources (JSHWR) in the annual meeting of JSHWR 2020!! These are extraordinary achievements in the history of our research group.

We are glad to announce that Dr. Chris Leong, our former Ph.D. student joined our research group on April 1, 2020.

We are glad to announce Mr. Chris Leong, our PhD student as a MEXT scholarship student from the Republic of Fiji, received the President Award of the fiscal year 2019 from Prof. Katsumi Nakai, the president of Fukushima University for his continuous efforts and the academic achievements on March 16, 2020.
The award wen to him for his grades in studies and his research achievements.
Chris is scheduled to receive a Ph.D on March 25, 2020 and he is going to be the first Ph.D from our group.

New publication!!
The latest paper by Chris has just published on "Hydrological Research Letters" again.
This paper clearly interpreted the shapes of flow duration curves under different climate conditions in terms of the data-based modeling approach of dominant rainfall-runoff mechanisms. It seems this is the best paper ever written by Chris and I hope it can be shared globally.
