Homework
Homework is given each night to review concepts learned in school. Most of this should be done independently, but if you're child needs help with something, please feel free to lend a hand. If it's a concept your child is consistently struggling with, please let me know and I will review it with him or her. Written homework is not usually given over the weekend with the exception of the Honors and Advanced Math groups, but I highly recommend using the extra time over the weekend to study material taught during the week.
Oops
If an assignment is missed or incomplete, your child will receive a calendar mark. If this is reoccurring an Oops paper will be sent home for you to sign. This tool will help students who frequently forget homework.
Test Folders
Please check FACTS regularly to see your child's progress at a glance.
Test folders will be sent home every Wednesday. Please review all work included in the folder, sign each page, and return the folders by Friday.
Behavior
All children are expected to behave appropriately and in accordance to the classroom and school's rules. The handbook clearly explains the behavior policy. Each child will be given a monthly calendar. Please be sure to ask your child about the calendar and sign it if it is marked. This is the school's universal behavior system.
Children will also be acknowledged each day for positive behavior.
Absences and Missed Work
Important tests and assignments that are missed due to absence will be discussed between student and teacher. The teacher will set reasonable limits as to when tests and assignments will be made up. Your child is responsible for tests or assignments missed in the classroom due to choir, band, or any other activity.
*Please feel free to email or call us with any questions or concerns. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
