Math- Chapter 2: Addition
*adding and subtracting with sums up to 12, adding in horizontal and vertical forms, addition vocabulary (addends, sums, join, in all), related facts (ex: 2+3=5 and 3+2=5)
Fundations- Unit 3: Digraphs
*Unit 3 is about digraphs (two letters that make one sound) ch, sh, th, wh, and ck. Students will learn how to read, mark, and spell words with these patterns. We will start to focus on -ck digraph at the end of a one syllable word with a short vowel sound. Please check the "Fundations" page for more information and this unit's trick words.
ELA- Unit 1 Week 5: Making a Map
*sight words and vocabulary words, features of a procedural text, proper nouns, Fall sensory poem
Religion- Chapter 4: Jesus Works Among the People
*John the Baptist helped people get ready for Jesus, Jesus shared God's love with all people, Jesus teaches that God watches over us and cares for us, Jesus helped all those in need
*October is the month of the Holy Rosary. We will be praying one decade of the rosary every day in class.
Social Studies- Map Skills
*Students will complete activities that focus on directional words (north, south, east, west) and map keys.
