The certificate course on 

Maratha & Rajput: The Heroic Saga in India is a 15-day course 

that aims to provide an overview of the history,

 culture and achievements of these two prominent 

warrior communities of India. The course objectives are:

·   To introduce the students to the origins, rise and decline of the Maratha and Rajput kingdoms in India.

·   To explore the political, social, economic and religious aspects of the Maratha and Rajput societies and their interactions with other powers such as the Mughals, the British and the Sikhs.

·   To highlight the contributions of the Maratha and Rajput leaders, heroes and heroines in the fields of warfare, administration, literature, art and architecture.

·   To analyze the legacy and relevance of the Maratha and Rajput values and traditions in the contemporary Indian context.

The course outcome is:

The students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the 

Maratha and Rajput history and culture and their role in shaping the Indian 

civilization.

The students will develop a critical appreciation of the Maratha and 

Rajput achievements and challenges and their impact on the Indian society

 and politics.

The students will be able to compare and contrast the Maratha and Rajput

 perspectives and experiences with other historical and contemporary

 communities and regions of India.

The students will be able to apply the Maratha and Rajput insights and

 lessons to their own personal and professional lives.
