BYOL POLICY
AVAILABILITY OF ACCESS
Complete access to the SSM-FC’s data network including all internet services as required in the classrooms.
All students are expected to acknowledge and understand the school’s regulations regarding use of technology and shall comply with regulations and guidelines listed below.
Use of personal laptops in class will always be at the discretion of the teacher.
The Technology Department reserves the right to disable, confiscate any personal laptop that is found to be a deterrent to school’s network resources and performances.
Cyber-bullying or attempting to damage the reputation of other students, faculty, staff or the greater school community will not be tolerated under any circumstances. As a participating member of the SSM-FC community, you have a responsibility to report the harassment of students, staff or faculty or any inappropriate content that you view or are made aware of directly or indirectly.
Unauthorized filming or recording of students, teachers, and staff with built-in microphones or cameras is prohibited.
Hacking of any kind including, but not limited to, school servers, other student's personal devices, or websites is prohibited at all times.
Unauthorized use of a password from teachers, fellow students and staff is prohibited. Do not share your passwords with others.
You will respect all copyright laws as it relates to software and other media.
Using school bandwidth to download personal music, images, video or any non-academic media is strictly prohibited.
Visitation to inappropriate websites, including, but not limited to, pornography, disturbing images or illegal sites is prohibited and will be monitored.
Sharing your laptop to another device to access the web while at school.
All personal laptops used to access the Internet at SSM-FC are subject to the same content filtering procedures currently in practice at school.
The Acceptable Use Policy for students and teachers remain in effect at all times under BYOL.
