Bienvenue aux cours de français à Brookside! (Welcome to the French classes at Brookside!)
Contact information:
I am available during school hours from 7:30-2:45. It is my goal to respond to any emails or phone calls within one school day of receiving them unless I am not in school for any reason.
Please email pvasquez@sheffieldschools.org
or call (440) 949-4220 ext 4213. If I do not answer, I am either in class or out of my classroom. Please leave a message and I will get back to you.
Office Hours 2023-2024
I have no set office hours this year. If you would like to meet with me during my conference period, you will need to check in with me that day to find out what my availability is. Yeah, I know, it's kind of frustrating but it's the best I can do and I will do my best to accommodate your request to meet with me. Otherwise, I am always available before school and often after school for at least 15 minutes. Just check with me first so I know to expect you.
Email etiquette for students:
Add a brief, specific subject to the subject line. This is NOT the place to ask your question or explain the problem. For example, if you missed an assessment, you would not write, "Can I make up the test on Friday?" in the subject line. Instead, write something like, "Make-up test"
In the body of the email, start with a greeting:
Dear Madame V,
Bonjour, Madame V,
Good morning, Madame V,
Be polite. State the issue and be specific. Which test? What assignments? Ask your question. Propose a solution.
Close the email with an appropriate expression:
Thank you,
I'll see you in class tomorrow,
Merci,
Bien à vous,
Sign your email with your name
Proofread what you wrote for capitalization, punctuation, and spelling errors. Use complete sentences. It doesn't have to be perfect but writing well and using common rules of spelling, capitalization, and punctuation makes it easier for the recipient (me) to read.
