We’re back with Issue IV of the Overtime Tribune. This issue, we decided to deviate from the norm a little. With the end of the IPL and the start of the international break in football, the October madness and congestion of important sporting events has cooled down significantly. In a bid to combat that saturation of mainstream sports, this edition, we chose to focus on more niche areas. We take a step out of the mainstream into an area we’re all too familiar with – introspection. Everything happens for a reason, and this was exactly what we wanted to identify. In previous issues, we have brought you the ‘what’, the ‘when’, and the ‘where’ of happenings in the world of sports. This time, we bring you the ‘why’. Why did the Lakers win their latest NBA title? Why do we have the Indian Premier League? Why is climate change on the verge of drastically altering the way sport is played? It is understanding this ‘why’ of events that we wish to illustrate through this issue.
