Youth Engagement Opportunities at Dartmouth Health

• Our Under-18 Job Shadowing program is now LIVE!
  An observation experience gives individuals the opportunity to accompany an employee during the normal course of their job responsibilities for career exploration or educational purposes. We are currently offering shadow opportunities in Radiology (8 Hours) and Physical/Occupational Therapy (4 Hours).

• Parent/Guardian Youth Opportunities Info Session:
  Please help get the word out to the parents and guardians of your students. We are hosting a Youth Opportunities Information Session where we will discuss high school/college student opportunities as well as post-graduation opportunities. From Career Exploration, Part-time or Full-time jobs, Paid and For Credit Internships, and Career Training and Education Programs we have a lot to offer!

• Monthly Career Exploration Events:

These events are being held in person and virtually throughout the year. They provide College and High School Students an opportunity to learn about different healthcare careers, navigate their educational pathways, and provide an understanding of the roles and credentials necessary for different positions. We currently have two nursing-focused in-person events planned for this fall and 1 virtual event about different healthcare careers titled Beyond the Stethoscope. We are continuing to add more of these events through 2025 and you will be able to find them on our Center for Career Development Website.

• High School Summer Internship Opportunities:

Applications for our 7-week Paid internship will be opening on December 16, 2024, this year. Students can visit our internship website to learn more, sign up for a Q&A session held in early 2025, and apply once applications are open.

• Career Expo:
  This interactive event will allow students to explore healthcare careers and discover employment opportunities now and after graduation. Students can talk to Dartmouth Health employees about their roles and career pathways. Visit with D-H Workforce Readiness Institute staff and current and former students. Learn about college-credit-bearing programs and career pathways. Our exhibitors include but are not limited to: Nursing Career Track (LNA, LPN, RN, APRN, etc.), Apprenticeship Programs for Medical Assistants, Pharmacy Techs and Surgical Techs, Diagnostic technicians (radiology, EEG, vascular tech, ECHO tech, etc.), Medical Laboratory (MLT/MT, cytotech, histotech, pathology assistant, phlebotomist, etc.), Other allied health roles (respiratory therapy, mobility tech, etc.), Perioperative roles (support techs, central sterile, etc.), and much more!
