Welcome to first grade! This is my thirteenth year teaching here in Stewartville, all of which have been in first grade. Prior to moving to Stewartville in 2011, I taught in Pillager, Sleepy Eye, and Cannon Falls. During that time I taught everything from first through fourth grade.
My wife, Amanda, works for the Zumbro Education District (ZED) in Early Childhood Special Education. We have three sons, Lincoln, Graham, Boston, and Cannon our dog who keep us very busy!
I look forward to getting to know you and your child this school year! First grade is an exciting time filled with reading, telling time, making friends, counting money, and more!

Classroom Philosophy and Expectations
Each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring and stimulating environment in which to grow. Students learn best in an environment that is safe, supports risk taking and invites the sharing of ideas. Parents and teachers must work together to support the growth of the child.
At Bonner Elementary we use the acronym ROAR to teach students to Respect Others and Act Responsibly. Rules within the classroom include:
Listen and follow directions
Respect and help others
Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself
Always give your best effort in learning
