Contingent on your hire, you must obtain your Missouri Substitute Certification. The process for this is outlined below. Once completed, you will be transitioned from a Teacher Aide to a Teacher Assistant with all of the duties and privileges of that position.
If you have 33+ hours of College Credit:
1) Mail DESE your official transcripts to Educator Certification P.O. Box 480 Jefferson City, MO 65102
2) Log into your DESE profile via this link
3) Complete the application and pay the Sub Certification fee.
DESE will then process your certification in about a month.
If you DO NOT have 33+ hours of College Credit:
1) Set up your DESE Profile
2) Follow the DESE Sub Certification Process
To Re-Access DESE Sub Certification Modules:
1) Visit the Frontline Professional Learning Site. Please note that this is different than the Frontline account linked in the SSD Portal.
2) Click "Register Now"
3) Select "Missouri"
4) Log in with your credentials. At the time your account was created, your username was your SSD email address and your password was SSD123
5) Click on the course you are enrolled in
6) Select "Launch Online Activity"
7) Complete the thirteen online modules.
