Season 6 | Episode 9: Honoring Autonomy in OT
Today’s guest is an incredible occupational therapist, Dr. Diamond Rashad, whose work bridges communication, motor planning, and regulation through a neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed lens. She brings a deep understanding of how motor and sensory systems impact communication — and how we, as supporters, can shift our strategies to truly honor each person’s way of moving, processing, and connecting. From practical tools to compassionate perspectives, she helps us rethink traditional models and move toward more empowering, respectful care. This is a conversation full of insight, heart, and the kind of reframing that makes real change possible.
