Homework Expectations

We work extremely hard all day in room 19 learning and growing together. Therefore, I do not assign any traditional homework. I encourage students to spend time with their family, participate in after school activities, play sports, and rejuvenate for the next day. 

There are however weekly requirements in 5th grade:

-2 iReady Math Lessons Passed

-2 iReady Reading Lessons Passed

-16 Lexia Units Completed

Your child will have ample time to finish these activities in class. If they are not finishing them in class, they may need to finish them at home. I check all iReady/Lexia scores on Friday mornings. 

Unfinished Work

If at anytime, your student is unable to finish their work, they will keep it in their unfinished work folder. They will have time each day to catch up on any unfinished work. They can also take this folder home. Their unfinished work folder should be empty, and work completed, each Friday.

Fun Friday

Each Friday, students that have completed all of their work and followed our classroom expectations will get to participate in Fun Friday with the other 5th grade classes. During this time students that have not earned Fun Friday will have time and support to complete their unfinished work or reflect on their behavior choices.
